Wilton Manors

The city of Wilton Manors, in Broward CountyFlorida is home to about 11,632 residents. The city is quite small geographically at just under two square miles, but portions of it are located in two separate U.S. congressional districts. Wilton Manors is part of the Miami Fort Lauderdale Pompano Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its neighbor to the north is the city of Oakland Park; Fort Lauderdale lies just to the south. The city boasts a very diverse year-round population, all of whom enjoy the warm Florida climate but have a stake in maintaining and improving their community and its network of residential neighborhoods. 

Once a farming community, Wilton Manors nicknamed the "Island City" was incorporated in 1947. In recent years Wilton Manors has undertaken a comprehensive economic revitalization effort. Along Wilton Drive, the city's arts and entertainment district features a colorful collection of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Rent for both commercial and residential properties have been on the rise and continues to increase. Wilton Manors boasts several recreational facilities including Colohatchee Nature Park, a 9.3-acre park with a boardwalk nature observatory, a dog park and a boat ramp. In the neighborhood of Highland Estates, Island City Park Preserve offers a scenic view of Middle River from an elevated walkway and a fishing pier in addition to a community center for parties and events. 

Areas throughout the city continue to grow and become revitalized, making this urban village one of South Florida's most attractive communities for residents and businesses. The big-city amenities of Fort Lauderdale, including some of the area's best arts, culture, shopping, beaches and dining establishments are just a few miles away.
